Carlsberg Vinous Beer

Brewmaster Erik Lund is a seasoned professional with over two decades of brewing experience. At the Carlsberg Laboratory, he has been involved in development of hundreds of new beers, and one integral aspect of his work involves keeping a keen eye on any industry trend. One of the nascent trends has been beers with wine-like characteristics, which inspired him to embark on a unique pursuit of achieving the best of both worlds  vinous flavour without compromising refreshment.

Over the years, Erik has explored vinous yeast strains, mashing methods, carbonation, and flavourful hops to pursue wine-like features. However, his curiosity was satiated once he started probing the possibilities with pressed wine grapes. The result is a smooth, refreshing wheat beer that macerates with cold-stored Rondo and Chardonnay grape skins. During the soaking, the grape skin's natural flavonoids subtly darkened the beer to a gorgeous rose colour and accentuated the beer's acidic vinosity. The slightly tannic Rondo grapes enhanced the beer's mouthfeel while preserving its refreshing qualities. In Erik's words, it's a beer that delivers taste and aroma profiles capable of captivating beer enthusiasts and wine-connoisseurs alike.
